On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, June 3, 2018,  a number of Brother Knights of Council 14360 helped organize and take part in a very special event held right at St. Matthew in Norwalk.

Bishop Frank J. Caggiano, Bishop of Diocese of Bridgeport, led several hundred people processing out of St. Matthew Church onto local roads to witness our faith in the Eucharistic Lord on the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

The route took worshipers down Richards Avenue and to a turnaround at Norwalk Community College. Everyone then returned to St. Matthew Church for Benediction.

Those who were unable to walk the route were able to remain in the Church during the Procession, during which time the Rosary was prayed.  Those walking in the procession also said the Rosary and sang hymns throughout the journey.

A number of area churches were represented, including members of St. Matthew, St. Ladislaus, St. Philip, and St. Jerome Church.  Many thanks to Beth Ann Murray and all those who worked so hard to make the Procession a success!

Communion Breakfast with Bishop Caggiano an Event to Remember

Sunday, June 3, 2018 was truly a special day for not only the Brother Knights of Council 14360 and their families, but also their fellow parishioners at St. Matthew Church in Norwalk.

Bishop Frank Caggiano of the Diocese of Bridgeport made not one, but two appearances at St. Matthew on this day, beginning with a very special Communion Breakfast at which he spoke about the importance of family.

Bishop Frank described his own personal experiences as a young man growing up in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Italian immigrants, trying to discern whether or not he had a calling to the priesthood. He elaborated upon how challenging an experience it was for himself and his family, and how much the support of his family ultimately made a difference in shaping his path.

After the Bishop spoke, a delicious breakfast was enjoyed by all, and numerous prizes were raffled off.  A little later that day, Bishop Frank returned to St. Matthew to lead a special Eucharistic Procession in honor of the feast of Corpus Christi.

This year’s Knights’ Communion Breakfast was once again chaired by Brother Ron Miller. Many thanks to Brother Ron for all of his efforts, and to Brother Erric Moretti and his wife, Lisa, for their wonderful vocal contributions!
