Members of the Knights of Columbus St. Matthew Norwalk Council 14360 recently awarded two students $500.00 scholarships. Kristen Viscardi and Sean Mitchell received the scholarships at the All Saints Catholic School’s Class of 2016 commencement on June 6, 2016.
Viscardi and Mitchell just completed eighth-grade and will be heading on to area Catholic high schools.
This marked the third year that the Knight of Columbus Council 14360 has awarded the scholarships. Members of the council also formed an honor guard for the Mass and graduation ceremony.
The scholarships are named in honor the Norwalk council’s first Deputy Grand Knight , the late Mario Mastracchio.
“It is an honor to be able to help two Catholic students continue their academic as well as spiritual journey,” said George Ribellino, Grand Knight of Council 14360. “Brother Mario would be proud, as he was a big believer in Catholic education.”
