Knight Out at Saugatuck Sweets Helps Several Charities

A recent “Knight Out” was held on April 20 at Saugatuck Sweets in Fairfield for members of Council 14360, their families, and friends. The event satisfied many a sweet tooth, but more importantly, provided help for many individuals in need.

Those who stopped by for a sweet brought with them a wide variety of donations. Some items were donated to Homes for the Brave in support of the veterans living there, while other items were collected to be sent to Equador to help those suffering following the recent, devastating earthquake there.

In addition, thanks to the generosity of Brother Al DiGuido, owner of Saugatuck Sweets, a portion of each sale that evening went to the K of C Council 14360 Charitable Fund, resulting in a total donation of over $200.00. Thanks so much, Brother Al!

Saugatuck Sweets now has two locations: the original store, at 575 Riverside Avenue in Westport, and the new location at 28 Reef Road in Fairfield. To read more about Brother Al DiGuido, his shops, and his wonderful charity, Als Angels, click here!
