Almost a year ago (April of 2015) at Notre Dame Convalescent Home on West Rocks Road in Norwalk, the chapel of the Convent of the Sisters of St. Thomas of Villanova was re-dedicated after having been restored by members of Knights of Columbus Council 14360. The Brother Knights, led by Tim Horne, had helped restore the chapel after it had sustained significant water damage in January.
A year later, Brother Knights and family members returned to the chapel for a special Mass and reception afterward. Monsignor John Sabia, friend of St. Matthew Parish, was the celebrant.
Notre Dame Convalescent Home is located on five landscaped acres in Norwalk, CT. The one-story residence consisting of sixty nursing care beds is operated under the loving sponsorship of The Sisters of St Thomas of Villanova and led by Sister Marie Lucie Monast, S.S.T.V. Their main goal is to optimize the quality of life for the chronically ill and convalescent elderly.
Grand Knight George Ribellino, Jr. presented a gift to Sister Lucie and Sister Frances of Notre Dame: a ciborium for the chapel. It was a special night for all in attendance.
