On July 26, Council #14360 had their annual get-together at the Knights of Columbus museum in the Order’s birthplace of New Haven. Grand Knight George Ribellino gave his inaugural “State of the Council” address, and he had nothing but good things to say about the past fraternal year. “The fraternal year flew by and we conducted or were a part of 75 plus events for the fraternal year….a council record. It is a testament to great Catholic Men Making a Difference in our parish and Community,” said Ribellino. He continued by saying “ I also want to thank Msgr Walter and the parish staff for their continued support.” Monsignor Walter Orlowski is celebrating his 30th year as a Knight and is the council’s chaplain.
Ribellino also noted that almost $10,000 was raised for charitable efforts through the council’s annual fundraisers. The council achieved Star Council status for the second time in its history, winning the “triple crown” of Columbia Award, McGivney Award and Founder’s Award.
A fine lunch was provided by Zuppardi’s Pizzeria of West Haven, and the museum had so much to offer, including its “Saint John Bible” display, which is out until November 2.
